Museums Aotearoa can distribute by email: notices, expressions of interest and job vacancies (advertised vacancies are automatically posted on this website in Vacancies). This is an ‘instant’ method of contacting all our members efficiently and effectively. Currently this service goes out to over 1000 individuals, museums and staff of member museums.

An excellent resource, our annual directory lists contact details, location, opening hours and admission charges of museums and public art galleries throughout New Zealand.

Code of Ethics
The Code describes the responsibilities of Museums, Governing Bodies and staff, to each other and to the collections, as well as to the public who support, fund and visit the Museum.

A Strategy for the Museum Sector in New Zealand
The strategy document, published in April 2005, sets out a road map for the Museums sector in New Zealand.
Te Ara – Journal of Museums Aotearoa (Back Issues)
Te Ara was relaunched as a free online publication at the end of March 2008. It is also available in pdf format and there is an option to print at own cost should you require.
Te Ara has been published by Museums Aotearoa twice yearly since 2002, and is the successor to the former AGMANZ Journal and New Zealand Museums Journal. Te Ara is an authoritative voice, capturing the vibrant spirit and distinctive mood of the museums and art galleries sector.
